ABOUT BAROT

Barot was connected only by a mule track until the road was opened in 1975. The other way to get here was through a trolley system connecting Barot with Jogindernagar. It was built by the British in the 1920s during the construction of the Shanan Hydel project.

WHAT TO SEE

Uhl river is a beautiful stretch of mesmerising water gushing through the valley at Barot. Its an experience to sit by the river and possibly have a go at trout fishing on the river. The pine forests of Nargu Wildlife sanctuary are beckoning to any trekker. This trip offers the opportunity to see tea gardens, ancient temples, Buddhist monasteries, Tibetan culture in McLeodganj and much more.

Day 0 (ThursdayEvening)
Tempo Traveller from Delhi at 8:00 pm for Barot.


Day 1 (Friday)
Reach Barot in the morning.
Relax, refresh and have brunch at the camp.
After lunch, we take you on a short trek to a nearby waterfall. We return before dark to try a hand at fishing.
Spend the evening hours by a bonfire, maybe sing an old song or two! Have dinner and retire early to bed to be fresh for the adventures of the next day.


Day 2 (Saturday)
Today is the day for outdoors. Finish Breakfast by 8:00 am and start for the trek through breathtaking sceneries.
Reach Billing by evening and take Paraglider down to Bir. Enjoy the views of the tea estates around.
Retire for the night after warming by a bonfire.


Day 3 (Sunday)
Today is the day for sight-seeing. We visit an astonishing monastery to have a feel of Tibetean culture, Sit through the chanting sessions.We start the journey towards Baijnath with a ride on the toy train, a fallback to the Raj era.
We visit the historic Shiva temple at Baijnath before departing for Home.

Day 4 (Monday)
After an overnight journey, we expect to reach Delhi around 05:00 am.

  • Any other Food and Beverage items other than those mentioned in Inclusions

  • Meals during the journey before reaching camp and after leaving the camp

  • This is a self help trip. Extra carriage requirements like porter, etc. will be chargeable

  • Any other costing involved due to any kind of natural calamity or forced circumstances beyond our control. This would also include expenses on any medical exigencies

  • Any other items not specifically mentioned in Inclusions
